Office Administrator – Full Time / Part Time
Texas Defender Service is a private, non-profit organization that is dedicated to improving Texas’s criminal justice system and reducing unfair use of the death penalty. In addition to providing quality direct representation, TDS assists trial and post-conviction teams in investigating mitigating evidence, and organizes policy reform efforts.
Texas Defender Service is looking for an office administrator to assist its directors in organizing the nonprofit’s day-to-day operations. Responsibilities will include a diverse set of tasks including book-keeping, assistance with fundraising, scheduling, event planning, and communications work. This position is ideal for an individual who is interested in law or nonprofit management and can be either full or part time, depending upon the applicant’s availability.
Experience with administrative functions, excellent interpersonal communication skills, and a sense of humor. Candidates should be self-starters who enjoy problem-solving. Knowledge of QuickBooks and accounting practices as well as fluency with social media are desired but not required.
